Regional Training of Trainers on Nonviolence June 10 – June 16, 2009

Call for Participation

 

The Nonviolence Network in the Arab Countries (NNAC)
is seeking nonviolent activists from Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria and Iraq to participate in an advanced training of trainers (ToT) on nonviolence action with the aim to identify skillful activists, to strengthen their capacities and involve them in a regional nonviolent movement.

 

 What We Offer

 

* A 6-day training program designed and implemented by Middle Eastern experts on nonviolence action, with the following content:

 

• Overcoming oppression, ethnic, and gender dynamics.

• Campaign strategy development

• Consensus decision-making and quick decision-making

• What an affinity group is and roles within the group

• Skills such as legal and media work (The role of the media)

• Advocacy action

• And others…

 

* Methodology used: Lebanese and Jordan trainers will use a participatory approach and experiential learning as their initial means of training. The work will be conducted in Arabic * The opportunity to implement the skills and knowledge acquired in nonviolent action in their countries through the member organizations of NNAC.
